Lip Balm
Lip Balm by Mari - 2 lip balms for $5.00 + Free Shipping
Lip skin is like no other skin on your body. It is neither hairy, nor does it have sweat glands. As a direct result, it does not have the normal layer of sweat and body oils that are used for moisture. Thus, the lips can quickly become dry and chapped. Chapped lips can lead to bleeding and infection. Additionally, peeling lips are just not appealing! So, in other words, when you are moisturizing – Don’t Skip the Lips!
Our featured lip balms this month are all natural balms made with: beeswax, jojoba, cocoa butter and coconut oil. Each of the three balms offered are infused with an essential oil blend. The various flavors are listed below along with the ingredient properties:
Citrus Mint: Lime, Peppermint, and Orange
Healing Balm: Tea Tree, Lavender, and Orange
- Beeswax is a natural substance produced by bees to build honeycombs. It is used in cosmetic and skincare products as a thickening agent, emulsifier, and humectant. It has emollient, soothing and softening properties and helps the skin retain moisture.
– Cocoa butter is highly protective of skin and acts as a water repellent.
- Coconut oil is excellent for itchy, sensitive skin, and it does not clog pores. It is moisturizing and serves as a protective layer, helping to retain the moisture in your skin. Coconut oil is mild and generally safe for people with inflamed, irritated and sensitive skin.
- Jojoba wax is skin therapy! Jojoba chemically resembles human sebum (the natural coating our body produces to protect the skin) and keeps it supple.
- Lavender Oil has a beautiful, versatile aroma. It is anti-bacterial. Its calming and sedative properties make it a wonderful oil to help relax, fight stress and to promote sleep.
– Lime Oil is routinely used for its energizing, fresh and cheerful aroma. It is well known in folklore for its ability to cleanse, purify and renew the spirit and the mind.
– Orange oil has a wonderfully uplifting aroma and is one of the most popular of essential oils within aromatherapy.
- The aroma of Peppermint Essential Oil is familiar and pleasant to most. Peppermint Oil is very intense and is far more concentrated than most other steam distilled essential oils. At low dilutions, it is fresh, minty and quite uplifting. Emotionally, Peppermint Oil is stimulating and is a good choice for inclusion in blends intended to help enhance alertness and stamina.
– Tangerine Essential Oil is fresh, sweet, citrusy and is similar to the brighter aroma of tangerine peels.
- Tea Tree aroma is medicinal, and is widely used in low concentrations in cosmetics and skin washes.
